| Hey people! Here are some duel types I made/revised. If this is the wrong place, please move it. - Deck Master:
1. All rules of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG apply as normal. 2. At the beginning of each duel, a player must select a monster from his/her/its Main Deck or Extra Deck to be their Deck Master. 3. A Deck Master holds an effect similar to it’s own that can be applied when appropriate. 4. A Deck Master may be Special Summoned by Deck Master Summon during that player’s turn. 5. Once a Deck Master is Deck Master Summoned, it no longer can use its Deck Master effect and is only allowed to use its normal effect. a. For Deck Masters who can alter their ATK/DEF points and/or Level, any changes to these stats remain as is once that monster is brought to the field. b. Deck Masters, unless specified in a Deck Master effect list, must for now be effect monsters until further notice. 6. If a Deck Master… a. Gets “Bounced”, it is returned to the Deck Master Zone and may not return to the field for three of its owner’s turns. b. Is destroyed, its owner loses the duel instantly. c. Would be flipped face-down, it is simply put into the corresponding face-up battle position. d. Would be Banished but not destroyed, it is returned to its Deck Master Zone and may not return to the field or use its effect for the remainder of the duel. e. Is Tributed for a card effect, it must return to the field by its owner’s next End Phase or the owner loses the Duel. f. Is swapped control of i. The player must swap their Deck Master if they must swap a monster. 1. Both players then control the received monster as their Deck Master. ii. The player may not attack with that Deck Master if they have another Deck Master in their control. iii. And its owner no longer has a Deck Master, the Deck Master must return to its owners side of the field at its owners Standby phase. g. Is any of the following by its owner, the new monster becomes the owner’s Deck Master. i. Tributed for a Tribute Summon ii. Fused for a Fusion Summon iii. Synched for a Synchro Summon iv. Overlaid for an Exceed Summon h. Is any of the following by the opponent, the Deck Master must return to its owner’s field or Deck Master by the end of its owner’s next turn or the owner loses automagically. i. Tributed for a Tribute Summon ii. Fused for a Fusion Summon iii. Synched for a Synchro Summon iv. Overlaid for an Exceed Summon 7. A Deck Master effect may not be negated by another Deck Master but can be negated by other card effects. 8. Any Synchro or Exceed that requires another Synchro or Exceed as Material may not be used as a Deck Master UNLESS you Sync for it or Exceed Summon it in that duel. a. It’s Deck Master effect is nullified until bounced to the Deck Master Zone. b. Examples are Shooting Star Dragon and Red Nova Dragon 9. Deck Master Summoning Rules a. A Deck Master Summon (DMS) is treated as a Special Summon. b. A DMS can take the place of a Fusion, Exceed, Synchro, and Tribute Summon; however, any effect that is received by the replaced Summon may not be used. i. i.e. Trident Dragon may be DMSed without Synchro Summoning ii. i.e. Trident Dragon’s effect to “pop” up to two cards to grant it additional attacks the turn it is Synchro Summoned may not be used c. A DMS must still fulfill certain Summoning conditions i. A Level monster like Armed Dragon Level 10 must Tribute Armed Dragon Level 7 in order to DMS ii. Monsters like Aqua Spirit still must remove monsters from play to DMS iii. Toons like Manga Ryu Ran must still Tribute to DMS iv. Contact Fusion monsters must still send the required cards back to the deck v. God Cards and Sacred Beasts (and the like) must still Tribute/Send From The Field to DMS d. A DMS can only occur on your turn e. A DMS can be negated but the monster is “Bounced” and not destroyed.
- Token Duel:
1. All rules of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG apply as normal. 2. During each player’s Standby phase, both players get a Turn Token with the following stats (??? Type/??? Attribute/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) and the following effects: a. This Monster’s Level is equal to the number of turns into the duel when it was Summoned. b. This Monster’s ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x200. c. This Monster is considered any Type and Attribute. 3. Every three turns, the Token Summoned is a Tuner.
- Stamina:
1. All rules of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG apply as normal. 2. Instead of having Life Points, both players have damage chips (10) a. Each time a player takes damage, they must give their opponent 1 of their damage chips) b. When a player is attacked and takes Battle Damage while they have no damage chips left, they lose automagically. c. When a card would increase LP, it merely grants that player an additional damage chip 3. When a Monster is sent to the Graveyard by battle, it is Banished instead 4. A player can remove a damage chip to increase one monsters level by one 5. When a duel ends in a tie, the winner is settled via a Sudden Death Duel. a. The same rules apply b. Use 3 damage chips instead of 10
for those who want to see the rules of Sudden Death... - Sudden Death Duel:
1. All rules of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG apply as normal. 2. Instead of having Life Points, both players have damage chips (3) a. A player may remove one damage chip to negate a card effect from activating
and finally... - Twilight Duel:
1. All rules of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG apply as normal. 2. A Twilight duel grants either player unlimited drawing during their turn 3. Effects that activate when drawn are nullified 4. For every card drawn, a card must be milled by that player 5. Exodia may not activate its automatic win condition 6. Neither player may have more than 5 cards in their hand at their End Phase 7. Infinite Cards is banned in this format 8. Card effects that grant you to draw still require you to mill IN ADDITION TO any other conditions and costs specified. a. (i.e. If a Lightsworn lets you draw 2 and mill 3, you must also mill 2 more) 9. Cards that activate their effects when milled are negated if milled because a player drew 10. If a player makes a joke about this duel-style’s name in relationship to the Twilight series, they lose automagically unless either player runs a vampire card and it is seen by both players prior to the joke being made that duel
Critique and spread these duels. They are all fun and hold their own challenges. And I'd like to know if these may be granted permission to be duels that can be counted as official.

| Stamina and sudden death: Solemn Judgment, a very good card, uses half your life points and wastes itself to negate an activation or summon. Your "stamina" lets them do the negation part 9 times in one game without actually wasting a card so at an absolute +1 Not to mention that if they use solemn wishes for example they have infinite solemn judgments, which cannot be stopped because if you try to destroy that they'll stop you with their infinite solemn judgments And yes, being able to do that just twice is still too much.
Twillight: Is going to end either turn 1 or turn 2, exodia or not, even if you ban every burn strategy in the game, then whoever is going second is going to win with an aggro otk strategy.
We used to have deck masters at TWA (before my time) but they died out. It's way too complicated to implement and can be easily abused.
The thing is that this game is ok as it is but only because people are constantly working on keeping it viable, so when you make up a new format it is bound to not be as good as the original game, because you haven't worked as much on it and even if you do have the know-how of it you are still bound to make errors that will allow loopholes etc. Konami has the banlist for it, but until each banlist is implemented a great amount of time passes, and because those formats are not going to last that long they will always be abusable. That's my opinion on alternate formats in general.

| I see what you mean. Any way to balance these out more? (I'm taking out the negation thing for Stamina, that wasn't even my idea anyways so I dont care.)
I can work out Twilight to be better also...
