First topic message reminder :
Fate/Grand Order is a shiny new(over a year old actually) Japanese phone game that has dominated our lovely chatbox as of late so I saw it imperative to make a thread. Why should you play this untranslated time waster, some of you may ask? Because it's actually fairly fun(Nour enjoying it despite not being a fan of the series is proof) and you do not need to know the Fate/ series very well, or Japanese at all, to get into this although it may help. Also because the summer event is currently going on and you can get this as a free servant. If that's not enough incentive I don't know. I guess you can join in on the discussions.
How to get it working:
The game is not region-locked but acquiring it can be a pain. You can play it on an Android, an Android simulator, or an iOS. I'll cover all three as simply as I can.
Emulation:
Is fairly easy. You download an emulator and the game's apk and you're set.
You can download a cracked apk from: https://mega.nz/#!dsokCLYJ!YFcPkeelYcCRoff-_zHcJojuUuM2uoeWO_UBEeZYRcs
And a decent emulator would be MEmu which can be found here: http://www.memuplay.com/
If you find the game lags too much after playing for a while, google 'hardware virtualization'.
The problem with emulating is one, if the game updates you'll have to wait for a new cracked apk to appear on the internet(took less than 24 hours for the latest update) and two, if you lose your account without binding it, it's hard to reclaim back because even if you contact the devs they can look you up and see you were emulating, which they don't allow.
Android:
Has two methods to get working. One is you have a Japanese Google Store account. You can google up the method and then you will be able to just download /GO or follow the second, easier method.
You can install QooApp, which is a central hub for Japanese mobile games. You can't find this by searching the store but instead you download the app straight off its site: https://apps.qoo-app.com/app/880. Press that blue Chinese button and get it on your phone. Then find and install Grand Order from there(may need to scroll a little).
The game itself runs perfectly fine regardless of the method you choose since it's not region-locked, it's simply a matter of actually finding the game.
iOS:
The only way to play on an iOS is to get a Japanese iTunes account. There are many guides online on how to do this that can enlighten you. Afterwards, find the game on the app store and install. Note that you need an iPhone 5 or later models. 4S won't work.
https://www.reddit.com/r/PuzzleAndDragons/comments/2u53db/tip_how_to_create_a_japanese_itunes_account/ Try reading this, replacing any instance of 'Puzzle and Dragons' with 'Fate/grand order' and it should work.
As for how to actually play, it's best if you catch me or nour(Ali is unreliable) on cbox but I'll dump some links.
You'll start off with a tutorial that lasts a few battles and is piss-easy to complete although whether you'll learn anything from it is questionable. The first link is recommended reading once you finish the tutorial and you will know this when the game stops handholding you and you can actually do something. Note that while going through the tutorial, you will get to roll 10 cards for free. Look carefully at the 4* Servant card(s) you get, because chances are you'll be sticking with it for a while. If you don't know what 'servant cards' are, read the bloody thing.
The second and third links are the only links you'll really need once you understand how to play. Unless you can read Japanese you'll be looking up servants and craft essences from there. Now you can join the rest of us in rolling shit cards and crying about it. The last two links are fun reading and also recommended.
For those playing, feel free to post stuff, like shitty rolls or rants about the beach event eating up AP.

You know, despite the initial ranting about the lack of sabers, I have three gold Sabers, actually. The first is Chevalier D'eon, who I got from my tutorial roll and gladly used as my only Saber. The second is Sumanai, who was my first gold roll besides the tutorial roll. The third is Lancelot, who I got from the free 4* event.
And, you know, my highest NP level for a non-welfare gold servant is NP2 to Yan Qing and Nobuzerker. That's not quite true though, because my highest NP level for a gold servant goes to NP4 D'EON HOW AND WHY I NEVER ROLLED ON A RATE-UP FOR YOU D'EON IS TRASH BUT LOOK
I ROLLED D'EON SO MUCH S/HE'S KINDA GOOD NOW ACTUALLY BUT COME ON HOW ARE YOU NP4 well d'eon is cute anyway and has the second to highest bond level so

Well there's a lot of fun stuff so here we gooo:
Fate/Grand Order's first Setsubun event, [Setsubun Banquet Emaki: Oni Nirvana Hundred-Floor Pagoda] has been decided. The event targets Masters who have cleared the "Final Singularity", and is a test of skill for advanced Masters in clearing the hundred-floor pagoda. New systems have been introduced where a Servant cannot be deployed again temporarily after they have sortied once, supports cannot be chosen, and where the Master will be able to use all six slots for their summoned Servants. Let's strengthen many Servants in preparation for this event!
Require Clearing Final Singularity to participate. A Servant that has been used cannot be used again for a certain time. No Support. All 6 slots will be your own Servants, with no increase in Cost limit. There will be no new Servant or Welfare. Starting: Late Jan.
w o w Sounds super interesting, can't wait to throw my smartphone in the middle of a rage fit~
btw here's fun statistics https://twitter.com/warawara_now/status/952395287586258944 The top three 10/10/10'd servants are Mashu, Merlin, and Jalter. Try to hide your surprise.
Similarly, the top three most LB'd craft essences are these three:

this game has somehow made me more productive than actually working shit
At Danna's request, I'm posting here 'cos I just started playing on JP. Been playing on NA since (just before) Saber Wars, so I went to JP in the meantime because the Da Vinci event sucks and I'm done farming for everything I wanted already. Currently just starting London, hoping to get to Camelot by the end of this week if I don't feel lazy in my week off.
Also I did 2 10 rolls and got 2 copies of Avicebron (new Caster 3*), 2 copies of Berserker Atalante, Fran, Mordred and some CEs I'll probably never use. Guess pulling Jalter on NA wasn't the end of my luck.
