| The following is a fictional crime syndicate that will be used in my book. Please critique the following statement. - Spoiler:
The Zugzwang was founded in 1944 by Adolf Hitler near the end of WWII. The purpose of this group was to gain intelligence on the Allies and their strategies on the war. However, the group was formed too late and the Allies had the advantage. When Nazi Germany fell, the Zugzwang continued to function.
It's leader, George Erikson, continued to lead the underground crime syndicate. The Zugzwang supported many other, more well known crime syndicates. Using his own personal wealth, laundered by his own chain of banks, supported mafia families and other criminal organizations. in 1963, the Zugzwang moved it's headquarters to the United States. George's son, John Erikson, took over when George died in 1967.
With the Zugzwang firmly settled within the system, the Zugzwang quietly began to plot the take over of the United States and eventually, the world as Hitler intended. The Zugzwang, secretly infiltrated into politics, began to support other countries that hated the United States. Over the next several decades, the Zugzwang slowly and quietly began to chip away at the economy.
In 1985, John's son, Arthur Erikson, gained control of the Zugzwang as it's leader. Pushing his father and grandfather's vision of a greater world, Arthur began to recruit people for an underground army. Recruiting ex-military and ex-cons, the Zugzwang preyed on those who were in debt, had a criminal record, or were mentally weak willed. With control over the most used National Banks, Arthur had easy access to those who were financially troubled.
Throughout the 1990's and 2000's, Arthur trained several professional hitmen to assassinate important members of society or people who owed the Zugzwang money. Alexander Rooke and Hans Bishoff are two of the Zugzwang's most dangerous assassins. In 2010, Arthur openly stated that he would run for the 2012 election, bringing the Zugzwang into open politics and protested against the failing economy, citing that he would bring the United States 'to it's former glory'. With the failing economy, support for the syndicate grew. In late 2010, the infamous 'Jack the Ripper', known for the infamous Seattle Massacre, as a professional assassin for the Zugzwang, though by force.
The rest I will leave out due to spoilers of the final book, Requiem. What do you think? | |
