What if there is an odd amount of participants?

Let's say 15 people sign up. The mods will split up the pairs/teams first, then split up any soloists. Let's say there are 7 pairs that signed up and one soloist. The mods will divide the pairs by 3 (6 divided by 2 equals 3.) So now you have a pair and a soloist left over. The mods will then pick randomly whether the pair and soloist will be a Plaguespreader or Survivor.

If a Survivor in a team/pair gets challenged by a Plaguespreader, if he loses and his mate(s) win. Does the loser become a Plaguespreader and the survivors stay alive?

The purpose of teams is to ensure your victory in this difficult survival event. As proven in the Firefight, anti-decking was a common sight and eliminating contestants is an easy task. However in Infection, deck changing is allowed. Although the case of staying in the game without the fear of being anti-decked, you are encouraged to speak with partners on how you should build your decks/side decks. That is really the whole point of these survival challenges--to encourage strategic, cognitive thinking. On the point of inquiry, teams also used for human meat shields for saving your own skin and accomplishing achievements.

Edit: As a side note for team battles, I originally going to allow war formats in this event, but I want to see how season 1 turns out for a BETA run. If the team battles work out better with just 1v1, then we'll keep it like that. If the event runs smoothly then I'll consider allowing war formats such as Single/Double Crossfire next time.

1.) There's a distinct difference from a legitimate reason to leave from dodging. If you have to deny a challenge because you have to leave or the likes then go ahead and do so.

2.) As explained earlier, once your teammate becomes a zombie, they are categorized as Plaguespreaders and may challenge you at any given time.

So they would be just one team or one solo member at time?

How can we face against our fellow survivors if we are not allowed to challenge them?

If 12 people signed up, you would have 6 plaguespreaders but would you have a team of 6 survivors or 3 teams of 2 survivors? and if it is the latter how do those individual teams win if they cant challenge each other?

You should be.

You ARE allowed to challenge other survivors (say you are a survivor yourself.) Furthermore, even after all of the Plaguespreaders are eliminated, survivors are to battle each other until the last team/pair/soloist is victorious.

Point of inquiry, I forgot to mention that in the case that all of the Plaguespreaders infect all of the survivors, the event ends with the win going to the Plaguespreders teams.

What's the prize?

Depends on the achievement you accomplish.

Is it possible to change from for example, soloist to pair, or pair to team after you declared it at the sign up?

During this sign up session ,you may decide whatever u lyk before the session ends. If you're changing into a team of four and sign upa are looking like they'll close, inform a mod abput the changes. After the sign-up session though, the set up you currently have is final for the entire event. However, your team number will reduce throughout the event.

@Nour: If a Survivor kills another Survivor, then the loser is out of the competition. If an infected survivor loses to another Plaguespreader, nothing really happens because I haven't implemented a ruling saying other wise. I will make it so that when this scenario happens, the infected survivor immediately becomes a Plaguespreader. During the infection process, if the infected survivor is defeated by another survivor, then the infected survivor is out of the competition.
