The game just isn't like the anime where they will all go for the biggest monster and try to overrun everything by battle instead of using a Smashing Ground or something. This tournament though will be just that.
Rules for both players:
1) Monsters you control cannot be destroyed, sent to the graveyard, banished, returned to the hand, returned to the deck or switch control, by your opponent's card effects.
2) Monster summons cannot be negated.
3) Your opponent cannot activate a card effect or summon a monster by tributing, sending to the graveyard, banishing, returning to the hand or returning to the deck monsters you control.
4) If in a battle between 2 attack position monsters, neither monster was destroyed by battle, destroy the monster which had the lowest attack during damage calculation, at the end of the damage step (that rule is there in place to stop the abuse of monsters that cannot be destroyed by battle).
5) "Malefic" monsters cannot be used.
6) Chain Burn, Dedicated deckout strategies and Instant Win is not allowed
In a ruling situation treat rules 1 through 4 as active card effects.
Advanced Format (Open Tier) w/ specific bans
Single Elimination
No Deck Changing
Sign Ups are open
All matches are official, first to 2 wins, no draws
And yes, this format may be greatly abused by certain decktypes, ofc it would. We'll see how that goes.
