Here we are in November with perhaps another harsh month to come across. We made it through October and have learned from our mistakes. We've had our debates and discussions about change and whether this change will be good or bad. We have came to a conclusion and have implemented these changes and have already started our new project.
Along with the new project: "Teach/Play", we have also opened up a new category in the forum called "Games." Within this category are the two main sections: "Competitive Corner" and "Casual Gaming." Now some of you are still wondering what to do with them and I'll tell you right here and now. Use these sections to discuss competitive video games such as TF2, LoL, Halo 4, any other huge online multiplayer game. Alongside video games, TCGs are also included in the Competitive Corner. The card games in mind are Vanguard, Kaijudo, and perhaps MTG (idk, just a big name.) All other gaming will belong to the Casual Gaming section--Indie gaming goes into "Tier 2" sub section.
Not only do you discuss these games, but also put the effort to make articles that serve as tutorials and some pro-tips about the game you are presenting. The main goal of this project is to help each other improve in other fields than just Yu-Gi-Oh. Lets face it, most of you are bored with the game at this point in time even if you were too busy.
As for the minor changes, we moved things around here and there on the main index and have added 2 discussion sections: Anime and YGO Discussion. In the Anime section, you will be encouraged to be able to express your interest in anime/manga and be able to go into more depth when you talk about anime/manga. Same for the YGO Discussion. Instead of feeling awkward about talking about random YGO things, you now have a section dedicated to just that.
You're welcome.
Lets review:
"Teach->Play" Project:
1.) Contact staff member about a non-listed competitive game
2.) If the staff member approves of your proposal, then you are responsible for creating "Teach" and "Play" articles.
a.)Teach articles are basically tutorials about the game to get beginners to start playing the game. It is essential that you are accurate for this article or else everyone will be playing the game wrong--things will get messy.
b.)Play articles are basically guides that show the beginners how and where they can play the game. It is preferred that you find an online program for these games. If it cannot be helped and the game is only on a specific console (e.g. Halo 4, Pokemon, etc,) then quickly review how to properly install any needed programs; list the steps needed to connect to any PVP/Matchmaking gameplay.
3.) The section is ready to go!
4.) I am now encouraging all of you to feed your attention to the content in the Competitive Corner and at least try to learn games that you're foreign to. We currently have Vanguard started, now its time for you all to contribute back by participating and engaging in discussions/polls/whatever.
Please be positive about these changes. Things will lighten up around here and we will continue to have fun even in these slow, harsh times. Good luck, have fun.
