Tamako Market (たまこまーけっと) is an original anime TV series produced by Kyoto Animation.

The story follows a happy-go-lucky girl named Tamako Kitashirakawa. Tamako herself is a high school student and the daughter of a mochi maker who conducts his business from home. Their mochi business, called Tamaya, is right in front of a western-themed mochi shop called Rice Cake Oh! Zee, which creates a lot of friction between Tamako's father and the Ooji family. Of course, true to the Romeo and Juliet archetype, the son of the owner of Rice Cake Oh! Zee is Mochizou Ooji, a Childhood Friend of Tamako. As expected, Tamako is Mochizou's love interest.

One day Tamako goes to the local market and finds a strange bird inside a bouquet of flowers. As she soon learns, the bird can talk, calling itself Dela Mochimazzi and claiming that he is on a quest to find a bride for the prince of a small island nation. The bird follows Tamako back home, whether she or her family likes it or not.

When you are putting out a bunch of them in a short period of time you are spreading interest over a short amount of people. If it was a couple of them, people would spend some of the time they could spare looking it up, or better yet, watch it, because you need that to discuss. When they are asked to watch tens of them though, most of them will not be willing to put the time in, and with good reason. The common reaction when they notice the numbers here would be to ignore them from the get go because they can't possibly go through all of them with the time they have anytime soon. That being said, I do have a small hunch this information overload tactic was directly or indirectly advised, but I'll leave that be.

Anyways, what that means is, it's fine that they are up, things to go through are good, but don't expect swift responses to them. I imagine the natural thing would be: if someone went through one of them and if they caught the topic, then they would be willing to post their opinion.

On the anime itself, Kyoto animation I like and all, and that's the reason I wanted to catch that one too at the beginning of the season, but I had a strong fear it would be boring, so since I am not particularly trying to waste time I ignored it. If someone tried it and can give me reasons to watch other than the animation, it'd help.

Hm, perhaps I should've just made a general Winter 2013 anime discussion thread? Well, the huge information overload tactic thing isn't intentional...probably. I mean the anime forum is pretty dead so I thought perhaps suddenly creating a lot of anime threads could revive it, as well as to spread out some hype and stuff.

Most of the Anime section is discussion and reviews. Just like any Anime forum, it is a microscopic version of, say MAL. So for this section to be declared dead would require so much inactivity that even I would have reason to call it dead. Dead? Think about Yamcha the next time you think something is dead.

As for Tamako Market itself. I'm going to watch it purely because I think the characters look cute. That is a good enough reason for me to give it a chance. I'll get back to you after I watch some of it this weekend.

Whaddya mean Yamcha's de-*shot*

Well just now I gave the first 2 episodes of Tamako market a watch, and I can say(although it might be preference) that it is awesome. It's very lighthearted, nonsensical at times, but quite enjoyable, and the humor is good.

Reminds me of an inverse Nichijou were instead of "Derp show with moe", you got "Moe show with derp."

...in other words, practically my new season favorite as it stands rite hur.
