  • Only Free to play games can be used for a challenge.
  • A dorm may not use the same game when issuing a challenge until they have issued at least 3 other challenges first. The challenges must be played properly to count. This rule does not include challenges issued TO the dorm by another dorm, it is possible to be challenged with a game you used as a challenge recently.
  • Win conditions may vary and are not necessarily tied to victory in a match. They may be achieving an in-game condition, reaching a certain point in the game, completing a certain achievement, a timed challenge, etc.
Two restrictions apply to them: Both teams must have the same starting point and the conditions have to be approved by the appropriate section mod/staff member.
  • Win conditions are separated into (and can only be) progressive and non-progressive
Non-Progressive: The challenge is made with the initial in game resources, or specifically named resources which are simple to acquire (can be acquired within a day without using money, etc.), and nothing else.
Example 1: A best of 3 match on Dueling Network. There is no progress on the system and all cards are the initial resources, so the challenge is non-progressive
Example 2: A game of Hearthstone with all the starting cards plus all the level-up rewards. The resources are specifically named and the challenge is non-progressive.
Counter Example 1: A game of Hearthstone with all basic cards + the contents of 5 expert packs. That is not a non-progressive challenge as the resources are not specifically named, the contents of the packs can be anything.
Counter Example 2: A game of League of Legends with any champion legal. That is not a non-progressive challenge as it names all champions, which is not a simple to acquire resource.
Progressive: The challenge is made with everyone starting from the same starting point (clean account etc.) and their resources are whatever they can acquire from their progress within a certain time or another specific constraint.
Example 1: Make a new Hearthstone account and play with it. In 5 days, there will be a match where both players can use whatever cards they acquired up to that point.
Example 2: Every member of the team makes a new TERA character. The first team to beat the Akasha's Hideout instance, using only its own members, wins.
  • The use of any external resources is prohibited. That includes but is not limited to: Real money transactions, in-game currency acquired outside of the playthrough of the challenge, account wide buffs originating from play outside of the challenge, trades, etc.
  • The game and victory conditions are decided by the challengers.
  • The number of participants are decided by the challenged. They must not be less than the minimum number of participants required for the victory conditions to be valid. The challenged have the right to postpone the challenge for up to 5 days.
  • Decisions do not have to be made unanimously by the entire dorm, any group of people within it is qualified to issue/accept challenges and make use of their rights to setting victory conditions, deciding numbers of participants etc.
However, any decision can be disputed by the the dorm majority via voting before it is implemented.
  • Challenges can be cancelled if the challenged dorm can prove they do not have the minimum required number of active members available to undertake it. If a challenge is denied without reason, the challenged team's points are halved. If their points were 8, then they are reduced to 0. If they were 0, they lose all privileges gained through The Games Games.
