School Cafeteria

This will be where you can chat outside of the arena with your friends, within the school grounds. Announcements which would be made publicly to the school in the story will be made here as well.

Joshua Baratheon sat at the end of the table, off away from the other 'students' at this school. He was a tall and burly brown haired man with thick, broad shoulders, thick arms wrapped with aged muscle, and legs thick as a tree trunk. He wore expensive fur clothing that made him look like a bear, ready to rip apart his prey. Many would think that this alone would be intimidating in itself, though many would argue his scarred face and blind left eye would be his most chilling feature.

"Girl, fill my wine glass," growled the imposing man. The slave girl flinched as he barked his order, and filled it at once. His nostrils flared as she grabbed the goblet and filled it to the brim. He grunted as he took the wine glass and downed it in one go.

Baratheon is an ex-soldier that fought in the war. While still physically imposing, his experiences have left him grievously wounded. He could no longer fight like he could in his youth. Such raw power and stamina. None of these pathetic people could match him. Not even the athletic slaves. No. Desert rats, as they truly are. Not Esmerelda, the bitch Imperator of Europe. Oh, how he admired her. He long wished to put her head on a spike and take control for himself. A silly girl like her shouldn't be Imperator. He, Joshua Baratheon, should be the real Imperator. Of course, he couldn't make that public. Not just yet.

Not only was he an ex-soldier, but he currently owns the largest slave labor force in Africa. Baratheon Trading Company, he called it. Or BTC, for short. Despite his loathing for those filthy races of sub-humans, he still knew the importance for having an army. A slave army. Soldiers ready to die for your cause. Yes. An army of disposable desert rats.

Baratheon ate his meal in silence, his two personal escort slave girls by his side. They also worked as his concubines for nights when the wine flowed like water. Tools for his amusement and entertainment, that's what they were. He would never bed one of these rats out of love.

His right eye scanned the cafeteria as he ate, mentally preparing himself for the battle royale coming up tomorrow. He wasn't nervous about the upcoming fight. His age and disability may prevent him from fighting as he once had, but he still had his mind. Sharp as a sword and three times as deadly, Baratheon could easily outsmart these ingrates in a contest of wit.

Vega walked into the cafeteria and leaned back on one of the walls, he wasn't hungry but rather interested with the other students. With so many students from different areas of the world they must have different tastes in fashion and fashion is just another form of art. Many of the students were younger than he was and also much more in need of food it seems since so many students were trying to get food, very much in vain.

Vega noticed that there were a lot of the students wore a simple white shirt and blue jeans, noticing the color of their skin he figured they were probably former slaves or even possibly still slaves that were brought here and given simple clothes to wear. A pretty boring look to be quite honest but their skin makes them unique. Vega looked over at all the other groups of people, most wearing pretty normal clothing although some had some interesting outfits. Many of the more interesting parts of the students were the color of their hair. Some had blue, others green, many of the hairs that were dyed are red but Vega noticed there were some who even had white hair. Many seemed to have made friends and some still sat or stood by themselves like Vega did. To just be alone or to view the other students Vega didn't know nor really care.

One did catch his attention though, the man was an older looking gentleman, much older than the other students and was sitting by himself a ways off from anyone else. He was quite a big fellow being much bigger than the other students but that wasn't really hard to do, many of these students were skinny. The man also had a mean look to him, probably a good idea to avoid him.

"Would you like some of my food? You look hungry." The question caught Vega by surprise as he turned to his left to notice a girl next to him. She was one of the former slaves, probably wanting to gain some favor with the other students around. "Nah, not hungry myself but thanks for the offer," Vega said, he didn't want to sound mean but he wasn't hungry. The girl said okay and wandered off, probably to give some other guy some food, probably. With that Vega decided it was time to leave, he had enough time looking over the other students and turned to walk out the door. As the doors closed behind him he thought to himself, "Hmmm, this place might not be so bad after all."

"Wow, it's a cafeteria." Mitcher exclaimed in surprise upon opening the door. She remembered reading books that involved such establishments. Strangely enough there weren't really any books detailing specifics about cafeterias in general, so Mitcher wasn't too familiar with them, but since they're a common enough setting in certain types of books, she wasn't too unprepared.

Looking around, two people stood out to her. Both were older men compared to most of the students in here, one in particular much older, while the other talking to a very young and vulnerable looking girl. She paid them no mind.

Should I try to get to know some of the competitors? Or should I keep to myself, I wonder...

Well first I suppose I should eat something. Yakisoba bread sounds good. Mitcher effortlessly made her way through the crowd, and got herself said delicacy. Finding a lone spot in the corner that was strangely well-lit, she sat down and relaxed. Pulling out a small book from her jacket's inner pocket, she continued where she left off.

The type of book she read was a 'light novel', or so it was commonly called in Japan. It was rather similar to 'young adult' novels that was relatively popular among the English-speaking reader base. Differences between the two were either lingual(Japanese employed the use of various symbols known as Kanji along with their two-type letter system Hiragana and Katakana, while English merely uses letters), or cultural(Japanese light novels usually have a highschool setting, an oblivious character with a harem that oft gets into erotic situations, while English ones usually involved hardboiled detectives and dumbed-down-for-the-audience narrators that oft gets into mysterious situations). There exists such things as light novel fan translations, which one could say is a combination of both(Which basically means a Japanese light novel is translated into English), often done by fans who are at least slightly fluent with either language. This often means we're stuck with shitty translations of the most popular thing, and the things that really deserves to be translated often don't get- no wait wrong thread never mind, let's continue...

The title of the book she was reading, Fate is In Our Hands, reminded her of the song used for the promotion video for an upcoming movie adaption of a video game series she enjoyed. After plugging in her earbuds, she started immersing herself into said light novel.

This yakisoba bread sucks.

It's lunchtime, however, because of how nervous i am due to the Battle Royale starting tomorrow, i did not have much of an appetite. As I walked into the cafeteria, dazed, i glanced at the lunch menu.

"If i had an appetite, i would probably be cutting lines right now trying to get to the front"
Mocking myself, i walked to an empty table and put my head down, trying to get a little sleep in since i was up all night yesterday fapping homesick. Looking to my left, i noticed a girl sitting down on a nearby table. What struck me as peculiar was the fact that she was reading a book. Apparently the contents weren't that good, seeing as how she made a disgusted face while reading it.

"I wonder if it would be a good idea to try and make friends before the battle royale so i don't get screwed over so fast?"

With that thought in mind, i fell asleep.

"Hmm, so this is the place" Youou said, as he entered the cafeteria over an hour into lunchtime. He came to school pretty late and got lost looking for the cafeteria. He walks in, looking around at all the people there and their awkward clothes and hair, some of it got pretty obnoxious to look at, it was like obnoxious teenagers going through some kind of phase. he starts noticing the few stares he's getting, but that shouldn't be too odd since he probably looks as strange to them as they do to him. There's also the fact that he's looking at everybody with a disgusted expression on his face. Among the hordes of awkward Europeans, he starts noticing some people with pretty crude clothes compared to the rest. The slaves, all crudely dressed and doing errands for the Europeans. He's not used to seeing this kind of thing, it all seems pretty disgusting, having humans as property, doing with them whatever you feel like, it's not a very pleasant thing to think about. He tries to ignore it but a certain person catches his attention, a young man yelling at his slave over nothing really and throwing his food into her face and beating on her. Youou goes and grabs his arm, but he shouldn't really be doing this, it's a slave, he can't object to this. He lets the man's arm go after almost breaking it and walks off apologizing to the screaming man, saying that he just slipped. Naturally he gets quite a few more stares after this.

"Well i guess this'll take some getting used to"
He sighs and tries to hold himself from complaining about the place, it's not like he really had much of a choice here. He enrolled in the school to get himself into the battle royale, the prize money for the battle royale is quite the amount, and it'd help him a lot in getting back to japan.
He goes to get some food, though there's not really much left at this point, he just grabs something and eats it as he walks around the cafeteria.
He keeps looking around at the other student, even if he'd rather try and ignore them they're still people who are going to be in the battle royale, and even though most look stupid at first glance, a lot of these people seem like they've been through more than enough fights, but i guess that only makes sense if they're in a place like this.

"Well i guess this won't be as easy as i thought" He sighs to himself.

Just a few things that I needed to point out. First of all, do not pass time in the RP; we'll be the ones to do that. For instance, in the above post, Ali said that the school bell rang. By that, not only did he advance time, but he decided to move the story on when barely half the RP cast got the chance to post here and start. Let the staff be the ones to progress time in such a fashion, as we'll try to make it as such so that everyone is given a shot to post here on the topic. It's only been a day; give the others time to post.

Another thing is to address everyone's awkward anti-sociality. Jesus, guys, start talking to one another, otherwise this is just turning it into a one-man self-monologue for every user. I'm not trying to force everyone to socialize, but I wanted to point out that everyone is trying to be a loner, and this is taking the RP nowhere. We are still at square one because everyone refuses to talk.

Also, if I'll be posting as the narrator, I'll have my text in italic as I did before. If I'm going to act out Esmeralda, I'll change the font. The standard layout is basically when I need to shout out like this again, though I hope that it doesn't come to this again.

Jamahl Furesh enters the Cafeteria wearing a long-sleeved black t-shirt and baggy pants. As he scans the room he notices a few strange people. He saw a young man around his age sleeping by himself and someone reading a book with headphones in."I'd rather not look at any of these people while eating lunch" he said to himself. As he turned to leave the room he noticed a young girl talking to an older guy. This intrigues me. After having a few hundred thoughts about it i decided it would be best to make friends with them. The girl looked kind of useless, but the man was huge.

This intimidated him.

He was right next to them and was ready to say hello, but instead sat next to the girl with headphones and thought about. "How am I going to deal with the arena tomorrow." "I think it would be best to use 'it' to deal with the tough looking guys here, but I'd hate to hurt these innocent people...

Yeah, but talking is so hard to do in this. Since we can only control what lines our own character says, a casual conversation of 'hello', 'how are you' 'i'm fine, you?' 'i'm fine too, bye' takes 4 posts to complete. That's way too cumbersome to do.

Finishing his meal, Joshua Baratheon stood up and grabbed his wine goblet. "Let's go," he said as he turned. One of his two slave women, not anticipating a quick turn, bumped into his arm and spilled some wine down the front of his robes. The slave's eyes widened in fear as Joshua froze. Nearly thirty seconds passed before a reacton; a swift fist to her face. The slave's face immediately disfigured from the sudden, hard impact.

Teeth cracking, skin swelling, the slave fell to the floor. She cried audibly as the Baratheon brute grabbed her by the hair, lifting her up to her feet and punched her again with full force before tossing her again. The slave stopped her crying immediately; unconscious from the sudden trauma, with a trace of blood oozing down her jaw.

Surveying the scene of onlookers, he kicked the slave again in the stomach, which collected some of the dirt covering her clothes onto his shoes, much to his disgust. Joshua bellowed, "See this desert rat? See this filthy animal on the floor at the foot of her master? If any of you think of standing in my way, I will ensure that you will suffer a fate worse than this desert rat."

Turning his head to his other slave, Joshua barked, "Slave girl, prepare me a new robe for the evening. Prepare dinner and wash my boots of this filth; polish them so I can see my face in them. Do not disappoint me like this one did."

There was a commotion going on, Mitcher sensed. Or rather, her book did. A small but visible bloodstain suddenly splattered on her book. Luckily it was only the edge and nothing was unreadable. It was however big enough for her to take off her headphones and look up.

In addition to suddenly finding people sitting or sleeping near her, there was a scene of carnage at one of the other tables. The older man she saw earlier was beating up one of the girls who followed him.

Oh, I know what this is. Let's see....domestic violence, was it? No, slave violence is legal. I keep forgetting that. She kept observing the scene with interest. By the time the old man was done, the girl was lying in a bloody pulp on the ground, quivering and shaking. Barely.

That is some good technique. Not just that but his body's well developed and trained too. She remembered reading about differences between a bodybuilder's body and a martial arts' veteran's body. She wasn't sure if the old man knew martial arts, but his movements showed experience and a lack of redundancy.

Doesn't seem like he's tolerant of bullshitting and screwing around. Guess I should try to avoid him. She went back to her book. From the corner of her eye she saw someone sleeping with their hair tied up in ridiculous ways. From the other corner, a savage-looking girl staring at the cafeteria menu.

While Youou was wandering around the cafeteria, he notices some commotion starting near by. He sees it's another slave issue and tries to ignore it.
After barely even taking a step, he hears someone screaming and some blood splattering.

"God damn it, god fucking damn it, ignore it, ignore it, ignore it ignore it..."
He tries to walk away from the commotion before anything else happens, then the man hits the slave again, making blood splatter around again, and starts yelling at everyone.

Youou turns around and goes to a table and starts mumbling.
"Fuck, fucking damn it, you're just too fucking annoying"

People move away quickly as he throws the table at the crowd. He then slowly walks up to the man.
"Hey, you decaying piece of shit. You sure can fucking talk big while beating down on a slave girl. How about you try and show me if a bitch like you can do more than bark?"

Vega wasn't too far away from the cafeteria when he heard a loud cracking sound, seems like someone rubbed someone else the wrong way. Vega thought about turning back to check what was going on but when he heard yelling he decided against it. From the pitch and way the man yelled Vega confirmed in his mind that it was the large brute of a man that was sitting away from the other students.

"Better off not dealing with him," Vega said to himself. He sure wasn't going to waste time and energy yelling at a brick wall that only knows violence. What surprised Vega was that he heard another voice respond to the brick wall, something about decaying shit and bitch bark or something.

"Just call him what he is, a brick wall," Vega chuckled to himself. Looking back at the cafeteria he was surprised to find the former slave girl that he was talking to earlier in the cafeteria following him. She flinched when she noticed Vega looking at her and tried her best to seem non-existent.

Vega let out a quick laugh, "So, may I ask why you're trailing me?"

The girl looked up at him, "W-well I...I.....I want to become your slave!...I-if you let me."

Vega almost thought this was some sort of prank but seeing how the girl was acting, she was serious. "Why would you want that? You are technically free as long as you stay here."

"I know people will look at us former slaves differently...they don't like us. You though seem very kind and caring so I thought maybe you would take me as one of your slaves...you don't want me?"

Vega walked over to the girl putting his hand on her shoulder, "I don't have any slaves and I don't think of you as a slave or want you as a slave, but I am willing to take you as my friend."

The girl's face light up, "Y-you mean it!? You'll be my friends!? B-but there must be something I can do for you to show my gratitude!"

Vega put some thought on this, "Well if you insist, come and live at my place. You can help me out with a few things and cook food for us since I'm terrible at cooking. By the way, what is your name? Mine is Vega Desdemona."

The girl responded, "I am Jessika...just Jessika."

"Well Jessika I guess we should be on our way then, seems like trouble to stay here near the cafe."

And with that, Vega and Jessika walked onwards, away from the cafeteria.

"Yes Master" said Ebele, bowing her head. She stood trembling, looking at the sight of the beaten slave. As much as Ebele wanted to see if she's okay, she was too afraid of a reaction from Joshua.

She just stood there, by Joshua's side, until a table was flipped. The young man who flipped the table got closer and began to challenge him. Should I do something? Ebele thought. No, not until I'm told to.

Joshua scoffed at the immigrant as he reached down and grabbed the slave by the hair and hoisted her up. "Go away, boy. You don't want to die today." warned Joshua as he shoved the slave girl forward and walked toward the exit. He reached into his pocket and grabbed his weapon, just in case the immigrant decided to attack. "When we reach our quarters, clean up this one," he directed at Ebele. "Then draw me a bath."

Youou stares at the man who's brushing this whole thing off. Is that it? Youou thinks to himself.
He never really wanted to cause trouble on his first day, and a big scene like this was the last thing he wanted to be a part of. He caused a scene when he really shouldn't have and he's actually getting a chance to end it before going too far. It's a good chance to end it, but this man is just too fucking annoying.

Youou sighs.
"Hey hey hey hey hey, just walking off like that is pretty goddamn annoying."

Youou starts walking up to the man while kicking along the table on the ground.
"I don't know why you're not getting the hint, so i'll say it out loud."

Youou notices the man going for his cane and picks up the table to use as a weapon.
"Just Fight me already, old man"

Baratheon stopped and turned his head. He narrowed his eyes at the immigrant. "And let me say this a bit clearer," he said before turning his body around. He towered over the immigrant. "I will not fight some dirty immigrant that thinks he is above me. You are not worth my time, boy." he said as he stepped closer. "I am giving you a chance to live. Take it, as I will not say it again." Joshua Baratheon looked to his side and grabbed Ebele by the head and lifted her up by the skull. "Your decision rests on this slave's life. You can stop pestering me with your attitude, and she lives. Pester me any further, and she will have a splitting headache. Now, take my offer and leave me, or I will not show mercy."

"Let's see if you can even manage that"
Youou runs towards Joshua with the table in his right hand and thrusts the table into joshua's shoulder, blocking the other arm with the table, and then pushes joshua away using the table.

As much as she hated to admit it, the current commotion had her attention. Not even a full minute after returning to her book did she glance up again, and saw a younger man approaching the older slave owner. The slave owner held up the remaining slave in his hands, as if to crush her head.

"Okay, time to intercept." She didn't think, but said out loud. It was one thing to have a commotion in the cafeteria, but at this rate someone not a slave will be killed by the slave owner. More importantly, since the two were fighting, she might as well get as much information as she could, and the best experience was a practical one, so interfering was productive. While getting the old slave owner cross wasn't the best course of action, she hoped he'd be more focused on the younger man. She had no weapons on her, but she did have something to use.

The younger man, wielding a table, rushed towards the slave owner. Oh my, just like Heiwajima Shizuo. She quickly thought before pulling out a hard-cover dictionary.

With about as much force as the average person can use, she threw it. Towards the center of the conflict.

Throwing Elebe aside to get her out of the way, Joshua used his powerful fists to slam against the table, breaking it. Catching the sight of the dictionary, he leaned backward to ensure avoid being hit. With his fury rising, he let out a bellowing roar. "I will grind your bones to dust and slaughter you all!"

Thrusting with a heavy object after such a movement has some difficulty. For the attack to be successful rolling against STR x 7 + DEX x 5 is required (roll #1) (strength to swing the table fast, dexterity to aim it while moving).

Joshua Baratheon
Character is reacting. Attack comes from the side, the back injury will be taken into account as per the character's bio. The time it takes for the opponent to perform the attack will also be taken into account. Additionally, if the action is successful, the character's Vitality will be reduced by 1 for violently moving against his injury.
AGI is needed for the action. The injury reduces the AGI roll. STR is added to overcome the injury for this action. The time given by the opponent increases the AGI roll.
Therefore, for the attack to connect with the table, a successful roll against AGI x 7 + STR is required (roll #2).
If the attack connects, a successful roll against STR x 6 is required to break the table (roll #3).
