I've been annoyed with that since forever, and I just realized, I can just remove it!

But, as much as I'd like to selfishly exact my revenge upon this piece of screen clutter, apparently I have to show some responsibility and ask.

So, is anyone using it? Anyone at all? (Except from digi's ghost. Or reikan I guess.)
You don't have to even click it, just the notifications occasionally letting you know something changed just by seeing the counter increase.
Are you perhaps using the search that's somehow actually working (contrary to the regular search function) ?

Anything? Is there someone who is using it for something other than pressing the up arrow to make it occasionally disappear?

and while you're at it, can you get rid of the PM pop up thing?

I think it's part of the same thing, will try to find what exactly it is back in the staff threads on that particular renovation.

if there's a different, easier way to tell we received PMs then i'm all for the pop-up removal

I also get email notifications on PMs.
Just not on errant threads starting, which is why I'm seeing and replying late to this one.
