Weekly Doodle Academy: Week 1

Welcome to Weekly Doodle Academy!

Weekly Doodle Academy is a weekly (or so we hope) series in where we doodle based on references submitted by you! So firstly we should gather some ground rules.

1) You can make a doodle based on one reference or up to all of them.
2) If you only make one doodle it can't be of the reference you submitted (if you submitted one).
3) If you make more than one doodle, one of the doodles has to be in a different pose than the reference.
4) You don't need to draw the full body or keep to all the precise details.
5) You have a week to finish your doodles.
6) Any tool and platform is fine. Doodle on a pad with pen/pencil or make it on photoshop.
7) Keep you doodles in one post (Obviously).

If you want to submit a reference for future WDA then just message them to me in the inbox. Don't forget to keep it 2D.

I kinda gave up while doing the 3rd one but i think it turned out pretty good!

Took me at least an hour but I haven't drawn in at least 10 years except for ironic stick figures so...
I'm legit pretty proud of myself.

So I tried to draw both in a fighting game-ish pose but well as you can see I failed. Unfortunately I'm pretty bad at anatomy so things look weird once I zoom out of the usual portrait shot. I'm not satisfied with Axel here so if I have time I'll drop another one. On the other hand I drew a second Chito- Shitoge.

It looks a bit stuff but I got it to look like her which I suppose is something. I actually wanted to draw her looking solemn but the expression didn't work so I changed it. And I can't draw hands.

how tf are all of you guys so good at drawing aside from dd-kun

Tamotsu: Body sucks. Really the only thing I'm fine with is the shape of the head.

I drew crying eye-surrounded noodle-armed chocolate ghost chitoge

Spoiler:

a) I realized I could not draw arms or a good body
b) I realized I could not draw a skirt
c) I realized I could not draw legs (thus ghost)
d) I realized I could not draw Chitoge's eyes well (ghost? might as well cry)
e) I realized I could not draw crying eyes (thus eyes everywhere which were googled)
f) I realized that drawing a Japanese grave would be difficult because she blocks up the entire "pillar" grave

It's completely unrelated to this picture, but...

g) I realized I cannot draw crossed legs

Good taste in shitoge but uhhhhhh

nice attempt at a crying face but the body proportions suck. hair is pretty alright all things considered. the face sufficiently conveys what she's feeling which is a plus.

the earlier one you drew i have no idea if i should read it right to left or what. and again face expressions are decent. not well drawn but it conveys well.

Legs are too short but the proportions are otherwise fairly fine. The change in hairstyle to a ponytail is patrician taste. lines are pretty ok, too uniform. nour's lines for shitoge's hair is better.

you're aware where it's off, and i also agree it's the head(or well its placement and connection to the neck) that's most competently drawn. unfortunately that's offset by the poor placement of his facial details.
