Without kimo around it's kinda hard, I did mention when kimo said he would leave that we would probably forever stay with the forum as it is now, and I still believe that's what will happen. Remember that to replace the image we would need one that is at least equal or greater in quality. Recycling through kimo's old banners ftw?

AL's right. To replace the banner we would need someone who knows kimos style but can also pull the style off to a satisfactory degree. Right now there is nobody that can do that , we were not joking when we said kimo was the best you know.

Even if Kimo was the best Graphics man, He left 2 Co - leaders so basically they are supposed to do what Kimo used to do right? But other than that why not you guys make some samples and we can all decide what we all think should be up.... Just a suggestion.

Well the banner is the first thing one sees when they come to the site so we want to make a good impression. We don't want a low quality banner representing WDA so we're not too keen on changing banners unless we have another that is just as good.

I'll give it a shot I guess... I kind of want to make a random banner that no one will expect. Ideas?

Destined , the problem is not the amount of skill, the problem is the fact that we have to have the banner in the same style as the forum. Right now I can't see a person that can do the same style as kimo, making random banners and choosing one won't make a diffrence. Unless someone wants to make something show it to us and we see it's the exact style as kimo, the banner is not changing . Unless of course every banner changes to something better but I don't think the staff would do that.

I see no reason to have to use Kimo's style.
Kimo was an epic GFXer, yeah, but everybody has their own style.

If we get a banner which is as good or better than Kimo's one then we can put that up there. Kimo's style isn't the only good style in the world. ;O

Whether an attempt for a new banner is made or not is completely up to the gfx'ers themselves, for the simple reason that a worse banner than this is not going to be put up so if the job is not equal to or greater than the one we have they will have wasted their time. So whoever gfx'er wants to can propose a banner (and by propose I don't mean talk about a banner, I mean showing us a banner, not a blueprint of a banner, not a possible banner, only the complete and finished banner they propose), the quality will be judged by the staff and if it is acceptable with the current standards we have it will be put up.

Fish, the fact we have to use kimos style is because it will blend in.


we could have a epic banner that 100000000c better than kimos. but a totally diffrent style and doesnt go with the other banners one bit, do you realise how bad that would actually look. First impressions are everything and pretend your seeing a acadamey for the first time and each banner looks totally diffrent , would you join or say that looks crap?.

So anyone is welcome to try ill say that, but i still think if you want a new banner , you would need to change th whole forum or find someone who can do the sam style

I get the need for banners in the same style but tbh, the WDA top banner is not exactly in the same style as the others.

1. If the vylon is a mascot I request a different mascot
2. I don't think our main banners have ever been in the same style as the rest, close but not the same, it's at the level where any near decent gfx'er can go close in terms of style and it would still be acceptable. That is my opinion on the matter with my little to non-existant gfx knowledge and my 2 eyes. If kimo was the one who actually made the monster artwork style would matter, but when it comes to photoshopping decent dark-ish will do in terms of style. We could ask kimo to shed some light on this, will try when I can reach him.

Just to bring up an example, for the longest time the banners we would use at TWA were the ones pegasus made, the main banner would be updated regularly by people, usually kimo, even durzo at one time, and despite how his rainbowish gk stuff was horrid it was not a matter of style but just the image and even theme itself sucking hard.

Me and Nour will sort out the stuff and there will soon be a topic up where you can post your banner submissions.

According to what the staff have said , only a banner better than the current one will be picked, so even if you make the best out of the MoC your banner is not guaranteed a win.

Now , just a opinion, I think you should lock this al since it seems alot has been settled and everything else will just be spam.
