Mega Evolution Revealed?

Early this morning, a new form of evolution was released. The process, called Mega Evolution, but the Pokemon Blazekin, Mawile, Lucario, Absol, Ampharos, and Mewtwo are shown to be able to use it. This explains why Mewtwo was able to transform into it's new form.

This is surely groundbreaking news. It can be speculated that an item is needed to push this new Mega Evolution, making the Pokemon more Powerful. It was also revealed in the leak the following information:

MegaBlazekin gets the ability Speed Boost.

MegaLucario gets the ability Adaptability.

MegaMawile gets the ability Huge Power. Also confirmed to be Steel/Fairy.

MegaAbsol gets the ability Magic Bounce.

MegaMewtwo and MegaAmpharos has not been translated yet. We also got three new Pokemon, including Gogoat pre-evolution, a new Rabbit Pokemon, and a new Electric/Fairy Pokemon. You can see the current leak here.

Mega Ampharos is now Electric/Dragon with Mold Breaker, and Mega Mewtwo has Insomnia.

This...This certainly ups the competitve gaming a lot if you are able to do this in Wi-Fi Battles. Also confirmed, is that you need the items to get this Pokemon to their Mega Evolutions. The first one, available Oct. 12th - Jan. 15th, is Torchic with Speed Boost with the item Blazekinite, a "Mega Stone" , which supposedly lets it change into it's Mega Form. It seems to let you use the item in battle, and is for a short time. Or, so it appears. It's not sure whether or not all Pokemon will get these.

To be honest, Digimon sucked. It was good for a few seasons, but it ultimately turned to crap. Pokemon is taking a huge risk adding a new mechanic to increase the gameplay and make competitive more interesting. People always complain how Pokemon is the same. Well, he's one of the new methods they came up with. Don't like it? Well, you can't please everyone.

I think it's a good idea. This generation is supposed to deal with Genetics, the basics of the Pokemon franchise. Screwing around with Genetics to make the Pokemon stronger is a pretty good idea. Are they OP? Well, we'll see. This is their attempt to make the game different, yet feel like Pokemon. Digimon dropped the ball; let's see how Pokemon does with it.

Well fuck. ;~; They are seriously calling them Mega[insert name of Pokemon]. I was really hoping they would make a more creative name for the English translation. Gamefreak plz.

It sounds like it happens by using an item in battle (and it also is revealed that the transformation happens in battle, which further boosts the point when combined with the fact it happens with an item), in which case it won't affect competitive at all (you can't use items from the bag of course in competitive pkmn) outside of special metagames which will be made on showdown or whatever just to be able to use those pkmn. So it can be viewed as a fun in-game gimmick, in which case, it's cool and fine and all, in the end we are just getting cool new formes for a bunch of pkmn. Not that it would be horrible if it affected the competitive scene, but it just means we don't have to get into that particular discussion at all.

It will have the ability Parental Bond, and it can attack twice. Beastly, but I probably wouldn't use it. Never liked Kangaskhan all that much.
