2012: DoTE, Tsukuyomi, MLB (They remained in the meta until set 10, even though post restriction they all fell off like fucking bricks.)
2013: Descendant, even though it was worse than the previous three decks because the rest of the good decks got hit

Shadow Paladin was shit on release because it used a shitty set 4 ride chain with the worst Grade 2(s) literally ever with a boss that makes you go negative to do things better decks do for less cost

Amber Dragon was trash for the exact same reason

And so was Blau.

Also, Tsukuyomi won by plussing you out and ramming you with giant trigger stacks. It doesn't matter how "good" you are (despite the fact Vanguard is an entirely skill devoid game so I'm not sure how this even an argument), when you get double triggered 4 turns in a row you will be behind, especially when the opposing Vanguard is bigger than you AND drawing cards AND has cards that make your Guarding a Nightmare AND had a 12k attacker at the time when 12k attackers were far above the curve

DoTE put a huge hole in the game because it was way bigger than everything else, was literally the best Vanguard in the best clan with the best searcher and best utility cards. It didn't matter when Tsukuyomi tried to plus you out because you would just smack them with a DoTE they had to stop every turn, and because you were now bigger than Tsukuyomi, or on even ground with her at all time, making it hard for her to grind you down with plusses. You'd have won the game before it hits the Trigger Stack, making that part of the deck irrelevant. I'm a huge advocate for Kagero (especially back then_ so if you want more reasons why Kagero was literally heads and shoulders above everything else, just ask.

This is why DoTE was the best deck, so unless you can dispute my knowledge, do I call check and mate?
