As you may have heard the ranks are replaced by a ranking system based on Rank Points. The way you earn those Rank Points is by having official matches. The new way official matches are awarded is this:
Only the winner gets awarded, and the amount of points earned depends on how many more Rank Points the opponent has than you as well as the Tier the match was in. You get more Rank Points the more Rank Points your opponent had, and you get the most Rank Points by playing in the Open tier, while you get the least by playing in the Kiddy Pool tier. Additionally, if you are at least 2 rank levels below the player with the most Rank Points, if you win against the player with the most Rank Points you get an additional bonus on top of what you would normally get.
For each tier the amount of points you get when playing against opponent's of lesser rank level than you is set for each tier.

You might also notice such references to Rank Level. This is a dynamic system, mostly of interest to mods awarding, that sets players in 5 different Rank Levels by their current Rank Points value to help with awarding duels.

If you are interested in knowing how the limits of the Rank Level's are set, at the beggining of each month they are calculated based on the Rank Points value of the player with the most Rank Points.
3 more important things to mention
1. Single duels no longer get awarded. You are however able to join 2-3 seperate Single Duels as 1 official Match Duel so long as they were done in the same Tier, even if different decks were used, so that it will be awarded.
2. You can only get any achievment that requires dueling through Official Matches. If you got any Duel Achievment during a match you are required to provide proof in the Duel Arena topic, where your opponent has to confirm on the Achievment as well.
3. You must always mention the tier you were playing in. Whenever you play in Kiddy Pool or Hobby Tier you MUST post what decktype you used. It has to be a name descriptive of the decktype. If you used Machina Gadget say "Machina Gadget", "Machina" is not an acceptable name in that case, "Gadget" is not an acceptable name in that case, "Vroom Vroom Bam" is not an acceptable name in that case. If you do not post the decktype the match cannot be awarded. The reason for that is to be able to see usage in the Kiddy Pool and Hobby Tier in order to be able to make changes, fixes, and prevent abusing of the tier.
