Duel Arena Default Rules Empty
PostSubject: Duel Arena Default Rules   Duel Arena Default Rules EmptyFri Jun 15, 2012 10:52 am

Even in official matches naturally the 2 participants can set some rules of their own. However in case both participants cannot come to such an agreement before or after the match, here are the default rules.

#1. Tiers are decided before a match. The available Tiers are here http://www.worldduelingacademy.com/t3197-tiers
After a match you are to post which tier the match took place in.
If no Tier is specified by the players before the match, during the match it is implied the Tier is Open.

#2. Official matches are best of 3 duels.

#3. Justified disconnections are a game loss for the player who disconnected. If there is another duel in the match it begins after the disconnected player admits defeat and side decking is performed properly.
#3.1. If the disconnection is not justified or the player chose to disconnect the penalty is match loss. That is because after disconnection players are able to alter their decks/side-decks, giving them an easy possibility of cheating, so you are not to disconnect from a match by yourself.
#3.2. If the disconnection was made with the intent to alter the contents of the deck in the deck constructor, that is cheating and will be punished as such by WDA.

#4. Both players have to agree at any point it is an official match for it to be a valid official match (that can be even after the match itself in the Duel Arena). If both players at any point have agreed for the match to be official, it may not be counted as one only if at any point afterwards both players agreed to the match NOT being an official one. If either player has not confirmed the match to be official they may later deny it and their claim will be valid if indeed they never agreed to an official match. The same applies if both players last agreed for the match NOT to count as official despite agreeing to an official match prior.

For all other cases consult the official KDE Official Penalty Guidelines wherever applicable with the mechanics of DN and non-tournament play.

Remember that it is better if rule issues are settled between the participating players, calling upon the rules of the default rules of the arena or a WDA member to judge is only a last resort.

Remember you are not obliged to follow these rules exactly but can set yours before playing or even during play if both players agree unless the compromises are that great that it is deemed to be no longer a Yu-Gi-Oh! match by a staff member.

If you feel I forgot anything post a suggestion here. Your suggestion will be considered and the post will be deleted to keep the topic clean.
