Might want to look at it and do some research since I'm not completely sure about what's going on here, although it seems that they're trying to pass a legislation to allow the government to obtain information from Skype calls and effectively spy on your common citizen. I read very little on it, so I'm not completely sure.

Don't worry, that's already happening for years now, proper legislation is only pushed so they can legitimately use the gathered information in court.

It may seem that I am trailing off, but it is relevant as what I read is something very similar to things I hear lately, and denote something very dangerous.

In a society there are competing interests, so unless you are part of the ruling class, your interests do not fully coincide with those served by the state and subsidiary organizations of it (In fact, they will often conflict. For example, you may find there are several obstacles for you to meet the conditions required to fulfill your basic needs, while others who have always been over-meeting them receive plenty of additional benefits. Your interests conflicted, yours lost and the society was structured around the interests it served in the end instead). Ergo, the government may not be your friend.

In fact, for democracy to function, all citizens must be free, keep at least a certain degree of individuality and even be able to act against the state itself, as it is not the state that maintains democracy but the citizen.

Accepting to be monitored and recorded is to release that control over yourself that you as a citizen should have. You are relinquishing your own freedom, as well as right and obligation to regulate the state, as you are letting it control you instead. Think of it like this. Why are they interested in monitoring you in the first place? And yes, there is a reason in the first place, and no, that's not to peep on people's sexual activities, if you have the power to make it so that you can legally monitor citizens, you probably have better ways to deal with such urges, which means that being attractive or not has nothing to do with it, it's a security agency, not a porn site.

Simply put, the reason is to be able to tell if people act out of line. You can define "out of line" as an illegal activity, however a class, a state and a government, as they are groups of people essentially, have self preservation, unless the people they consist of are saints, which they are not. Yes, actions that can trigger that are also those directly attempting to overthrow the government, but there are also simpler things like acting to earn your rights to education, health, work, to be equal before the law, to protest against wars made for financial reasons, etc. 

What happens if you get out of line in such a case of course isn't you being dragged to Guantanamo by highly trained agents. Instead think of it as personalized advertising (Advertising which is directed at you based on your internet activity, like google searches, youtube searches, activity on sites with facebook apps enabled, etc. and brings you ads specified to you), your private information is used to redirect your behavior, perhaps not you personally (although I wouldn't be surprised if your suggestions coming up on the internet changed to fit that, advertising has been doing it for a while), but if certain trends are detected, it is simple for mass media to fix public opinion. Especially if you can statistically tell what part of the mass media the target group prefers. As a next step, if you do take action, the information can be used to halt said action through "legal" interference.

The USA aren't democratically active enough to cause such concerns to the state, but here it is not uncommon to hear about politically active people picked by the police off of peaceful protests for "disturbing the peace", exactly because the state is able to keep files on them with information largely irrelevant to the legal system, but more so of political activity. Additionally we even had 2 people lately arrested for facebook posts (one for making a pun with a name of a monk, another for posting pictures which showed on duty police officers acting familiar and cooperating with members of a neo nazi party, which is a big deal around here), which shows that private information is not that safe, and that acting according to the law is not enough, if you cannot trust the state, the interpretation of the law can be quite loose. I can bring up plenty more things like that actually.

If you are a citizen of a democratic society, know that the state is neither your friend nor a stranger. It is irresponsible to both say you fully trust it and say you leave full control to it, as well as to say that you don't care and they have nothing to do with you if you don't break their rules. As a citizen the state is something you are to face, form, actively shape and judge. When you surrender that control over the state which you have as a citizen, the form of government is no longer Democracy.

2. Youtube. Mostly Pokemon videos, music videos for music, and etc.

4. Serebii/Pokebeach from Pokemon news

Unless it pertains to my book, I don't research how to build bombs, terrorism, etc. I have nothing to hide from the Government. If they want to watch my fat ass waste my time on the internet, good for them. Glad to know that they're focused on what matters.
