- Note:
I am well aware that most of you play on PC or own Androids. I'm making this specific guide purely for those who may have iOS since this is basically a personal experience from my end.
Okay! If you own an iOS device, let's make sure your device can run this game properly. It seems like F/GO can run on the following:
iPhone 5 (and up) iPad 3 (and up), iPad Mini 2 (and up), iPod Touch 6 (and up.)
All devices must at least have iOS 6 installed, but I highly recommend having the latest installed (at the time of this guide that would be iOS 9.02)
The installation size is 75.4 MB, and after installation and updates, the total game size is 355 MB (as of October 2015--will update later.)
How to Make a New Japanese Apple ID:Since Apple is known for it's obsession with copyright and surround their business models for cool things around copyright, we're going to have to do some workaround their region locking. What you're going to have to do is make a whole new Apple ID and base your account in Japan.
- Benefits to playing F/GO on iOS (and why it's worth going through with this method)::
- You turn your iPhone, iPod or iPad into a handheld game console
- You can legally get all of the Japanese mobile games (Kingdom Hearts, iOS exclusive Final Fantasy games, and Puzzle Dragons are notable here.)
- You can legally get all of your anime music and be able to use Apple Music to do that ($5/month, first 3 months are free.)
- Instructions::
The following guide is best said by Reddit user "BonerSmack" of /r/PuzzleAndDragons

- What you'll need:
- An unused email account that isn't connected to any iTunes account
- A computer with iTunes downloaded into it
- Later obviously the iOS device you will be playing on.

- 1. Open iTunes. Sign out of your iTunes account if you are signed in.
2. Go to the store. Scroll all the way down to the bottom and you should see a flag of a country. Click on it. Now select Japan as from the countries listed.
3. Afterwards search for Puzzle & Dragons (you can write in English it won't matter) and click the app and press buy. You can click any app, actually, but it must be completely free.YOU NEED TO HAVE CLICKED A FREE APP DOWNLOAD FIRST OR ELSE YOU WON'T GET THE OPTION OF NOT USING A CREDIT CARD.
4. Click create apple id. "Free" should be preselected for you. Leave the gift card area blank. If it is not preselected, choose option "free" (although you may have done something wrong if it is not preselected).
5. Enter a clean email address. Enter a password. Enter any name you choose.
6. Under phonetic pronunciation it can be anything. I used "トクメイ" Feel free to plug that straight in.
7. Other guides will teach you how to match postal codes with prefects. You can do this by looking up hotels in Japan. That's an annoying extra step, so I am just going to give you what I used (Tokyo):
- Code:
-
* Postal Code: 100-0006
* Select "Tokyo" from the drop down box.
* Type: "Chiyoda-ku" in the box to the right of Tokyo.
* Address: "123 Nowhere Road" or anything you want. Leave the rest blank.
* Phone: 080 55555555
You are done!
Note the information you used somewhere so you don't forget it.
On your device, go to Settings -> "iTunes & App Store -> Click on your username and signout. Sign in with the new account. You will be switched to the JP store. Download PAD.
In this case you'll download Fate/Grand Order (and PAD if you'd like, pretty fun game too.)
As for funding your JAP account, you will need to make an account at Play-Asia (worth it for anything and everything) and buy your Japanese iTunes gift cards here: http://www.play-asia.com/digital_codes/itunes/14/711z9
The two deals I go with are the ¥1000 and ¥3000.
Here is the Ultimate Guide to Fate/Grand Order, in which the most important link for your immediate need would be to reference this guide as well (Just in case things go south for any reason whatsoever): https://www.reddit.com/r/grandorder/comments/3fgvwx/guidefaq_how_to_play_fate_grand_order_without/
Once you're able to sign in, great! There are a plethora of guides, external links and support threads over in /r/grandorder!
The two most important external links I want to put your attention to are these:
1) F/GO Story Project (well-done fan translations): http://fgo-story.byethost18.com/
AND
2) F/GO Wiki (where you can find specific information such as understanding what symbols and skills mean for you and your servants as well as seeing all of the available servants that you could ever possibly have the luck to roll upon.): http://fategrandorder.wikia.com/wiki/Fate/Grand_Order_Wikia
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to either ask me or search the subreddit for your issues. Chances are, it's already happened. If not, then there should be an easy fix to it.
As for an Android/Google Play guide, I believe it's pretty straight forward and much less convoluted than PC and iOS. If you experience problems as an Android user and would like that mobility that iOS users have, then feel free to ask for it and I'll make a guide for that too. As far as I know, it's straightforward.
