History:

Blaze is one of five trainers that began their journey in Viridian City. Blaze received a Charmander against Professor Oak. Blaze and Flora lost their first battle against River and Voltage. Charmander did not listen to Blaze at first. After Blaze gave Charmander Wise Glasses in part of a deal to defeat the Pewter City Gym Leader and River did it finally begin listening to Blaze. After training for a whole day in the Viridian Forest, it got to Lv. 15, one level away to evolving. However, River and Flora showed up at the campsite, revealing that they had already evolved their Starters.

While lost in Viridian Forest, Blaze came across a Mankey. Charmander defeated the Mankey in a tough battle, and Blaze considered catching it. Deciding against the idea, Blaze ordered Charmander to attack the Mankey. The attack missed and hit a swarm of Beedrill. As they attacked, Charmander used a new technique, Dragon Rage, to defeat the swarm. Charmander evolve into Charmeleon after the battle.

Blaze defeated Rocky to win his first Gym Badge. After his victory, while visiting the Pewter City PokeCenter, Blaze received a Growlithe from Grandpa Blaine for reward for defeating his first Gym battle. Growlithe is a strong Pokemon with a unique move, Wild Charge.

After exiting Mt. Moon, Blaze encountered a Team Rocket Grunt, which he defeated in a battle. After visiting Bill's House with Flora, River, and Voltage, they fended off the Team Rocket Grunt. Blaze got a Flareon as a reward.

Blaze fought River for the Cascade Badge at Cerulean Gym. Blaze managed to defeat River's Vaporeon with his new Flareon, but it lost to Gyarados. Growlithe, Blaze's second Pokemon, also fell to Gyarados, but not without weakening it considerably. Charmeleon was able to finish it off with a Dragon Rage attack. Charmeleon and Wartortle fought hard, but the battle was called off due to Misty going into labor.

After leaving the gym, a mysterious trainer by the name of J attacked them. Blaze's Charmeleon was severely hurt in the battle against his Rhyperior. Because of his bravery and the battle with River, Misty awarded him the Cascade Badge. Blaze defeated Voltage to win the Thunder Badge, and was absent from when J attacked River, Flora, and Voltage in Vermillion City.

Blaze challenged and defeated the Celadon City Gym Leader to earn his Rainbow Badge. His Charmeleon evolved after the fight. While training outside of Celadon City, Blaze ran into Flora and River. Challenged by River, he accepted and lost the battle to her newly evolved Blastoise. Blaze was present at Flora and River's Gym Battle for the Rainbow Badge, and helped fight off J. He earned the Soul Badge and Marsh Badge while Flora was injured, and became Cinnabar Gym Leader after beating his grandfather for the position.
