Mayor's Mansion

Subject: Mayor's Mansion Tue Jan 31, 2012 7:41 am

First topic message reminder :

To say the least, this mansion was huge.

It was within a block of other huge mansions for other important people within the Central District, yet it was twice as big as any other houses within sight. The front door stood open with two bouncers creating a passageway effect, a line forming across the grass. However, a straight line in stood clear for any duelists who were specially invited and one of the guards held a clipboard to check incoming people off.

Inside, a bar was set up and people with drinks milled around to softly playing music, yet above the sounds of voices, only the bass could be heard.

A banner hung loosely across the house, stating "WELCOME ALL DUELISTS!"

The ship's staff led all duelists from teh ship directly here, so that they could introduce themselves to eachother further, duel, and generally relax after the stress of being on the media's latest titanic. There was even an official tournament registry official working in an inbuilt office ready to take people's deck changes.

(This is the end of the ship arc. Soon, the party will end and all the areas will open for your use. So post here, keep teh RP active. Eyna gave a slight smile, taking a sip of her cider, watching all the current duels play out. She shook her head. Wasn't it better to hold off and wait to duel until the actual tournament? Enya already had a tactical advantage, learning what people used what decks, and their playing styles. She took another sip of her cider, looing around, tapping her feet to the music... or rather, the bass of the music.

She looked around. There were a couple of people doing what she was: drinking their choice of drinks, scouting out the duels. 'At least some people have a sense of tactic.' She thought, then pondered if she should strike up a conversation with one of them... it was getting awfully boring, just sitting here.

She turned, noticing a man sipping on a Dr. pepper, "Liking what you see so far?" She asked out of curiosity, taking another sip of cider.

Loki's attention span fluttered around to turn on Eyna, the source of the voice obviously speaking out in directory towards him. "Well, miss, that all depends on how to want to take that question of yours. For example, if was to like what I see competition-wise, I'd say it's decent. On the other hand, I could also take it as liking what I see duelist wise, not necessarily determined by skill or deck, but personality." He answered with a slight shrug as his bright green gaze slithered off to briefly stare out at the others around the large room.

Bringing his pair of fluorescent green decorated eyes back to the girl with whom he was speaking, he released a few words in conversation yet again, "Either way, I guess you could say I do like what I see so far. What about yourself? Sizing any worthwhile competition up yet?"

"I'm seeing a couple here and there that may or may not pose a threat. But honestly, I think it's going to be someone here at the bar who has a better chance of winning." She said, turning to the barman. Better senses, letting all the other duelists fight while we observe. "Another order of cider, please." She said, and was rewarded with a refilled glass.

"A lot of people running around, and it's a little loud, but other than that, I don't really have any complaints." She said, swirling the cider in her glass, before taking another sip. "i'm used to silence, so this is a little new. Even back in France, it was decently quiet as the people prepared to duel.

She stretched, sipping again, "Enya Neruri. I'm from France, if you couldn't tell by my accent." She said with a slight smile, eyes dancing under light"

"This is most likely true. It'll be us, the ones doing the observing, that'll be the most troublesome for each other within the tournament brackets." Loki commented with a nod to her words, his words dying off as she ordered a refill of her cider.

"Hm, it is rather noisy in here. So many duels, people yelling, a bit on the chaotic side of things. Don't fret too much though, you'll be used to it soon enough, I'm sure." He shrugged in reply, blinking over towards her to let her next set of shared words truly sink in his ears.

"Loki Tribbiani. True blue American." He answer back in greeting with his own name, a faint chuckle sounding as he began to speak a few more words. "Of course I could tell you were from France. I must say, when it comes to French accents, I'm a big fan. On that note, it's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Enya Nureri." Upon finishing off his reply, Loki have a small bow from where he sat.

After everybody walked away, Chad was sitting around, waiting for something to happen. After a few minutes, he started feeling thirsty, and noticed a bar at the corner of his eye. He walked over, and was deciding for a drink.

"I-I'll take a..... Coke p-please." Chad told the man. He didn't often buy soft drinks, but it was a party, and he considered it wouldn't hurt to have one. Or more. After Chad got his drink, he saw an interesting young woman with red hair drinking a glass of cider (Enya). Chad got brave, and thought he would introduce himself. He tapped her shoulder and said.

"H-hi, I'm Ch-Chad." He then realized she was having a conversation with another young man. "O-oh, s-sorry...." He said, backing away from her nervously.

"I sure hope so. This is causing one big headache... me just recovering from a slight cold, too..." she said, with a slight frown, thinking back to her time on board, witch was mostly in bed, under the covers.

Enya gave another slight smile, “American, huh? That's not that bad... I've met a few Americans. Not many, but enough, I would think.. a pleasure to meet you, Loki.” She said with a nod, resting her back against the bar, glad to meet someone who had a decent head on their shoulders, observing some of the duelists fuel. Saying was a fan of the French earned him some points in her eyes. “Oh, you're such a gentleman.” She said, giving a mock curtsey as he slightly bowed, with another slight smile.

Another voice reached her ears, and she noticed a young man come to say hello. “no need to be so shy, come and take a seat, Chad.” She said, pointing to a small seat next to her. “I can talk with two people at once, it's not so hard.” She said, “Where do you come from?” She asked out of curiosity.

"A gentleman, huh? Well, I do try," Loki smirked lightly at the words shared between the two. His eyes then traveled to the newcomer that had approached and spoken..Sort of. Curiosity filled the teenager as he eyed the new duelist carefully, listening for the answer to Enya's question in which she asked where he was from.

"O-oh, I'm from Domino City, i-in Japan." Chad told Enya, taking a seat. He took a small sip of his soda, and started to become fond of the flavor. This is a lot less sugary than I remember."S-so, who are you? W-where are you from?" Chad would have asked what got her into Yugioh, and if she had any interesting stories, but he didn't want to burden her with too many questions.

“Ah, Japan, the place where dueling began, if I recall correctly.” Enya said with a nod. “I'm Enya Neruri. I'm from France.” She said, realizing she was going to have to get used to saying her name over and over again to every person who happened to ask it. “Already so Diverse. 'An American, a Japanese guy, and A french girl walked into a bar..... ' Sounds like some horrible joke people make up on the spot.” She said, the thought giving her a slight laugh.

“So, what do you two like to do in your spare time.... besides dueling? I fence, and I play other card games, and I'm also a nature activist.” She explained, trying to get a decent conversation going between the two. She reached into her pocket, pulling out a deck of regular ol' playing cards. “Anyone up for a game of Hold-Em? No ante, of course, that's illegal. Or maybe a game of 'I doubt it'?” she offered

"I-I...." Chad mostly had his mother teaching him how to be perfect in his free time. He also had a small..... habit of 'borrowing' things from others, which he didn't like talking about. He only really had one thing to say.Not too interesting though.

"I mostly read b-books. I a-annoy my teachers w-when I read ahead i-in my textbook." Chad said, laughing quietly. When Enya pulled out her deck of cards, Chad remembered playing that when he was young. He knew he had no chance if he played. This'll definatley be a good time killer though.

"I-I suppose I wouldn't m-mind a quick game."

Oh, hi Daniel! My name is Angela, and this is my friend Core! Angela said, in a nice and cheery mood.

Sentan gulped down the last bit of coke and got a refill. He looked around the room , it was getting pretty boring just staying at the bar, he found found angeal. Sentan started to walk over to her. When he got there he noticed that a new guy was there to . He spoke the then in his usuall bored voice.

"hey guys . Whats happening"

Hey sipped on his coke out of habit. He also looked at the new guy.

"hey, what your name man?"

Loki blinked as the new question was giving, its directory being both himself and the other guy by the name of Chad. "Other than dueling, I play soccer and baseball, though soccer is my bigger passion of the two. I just love being on the field. If I could, I'd play all day, everyday."

He brought his glass to his lips again, taking another sip of his Dr. Pepper, while doing so listening to the offer to play cards. "Nah," The answer was given shortly after, "Thank you for the offer though."

-So,Jason,huh?,I'm sorry i have to decline,but i need to make some fixes to the deck before the torunament starts,but i'll promise we will duel some other time,and i mean,it's not like i won't see you again,you have to return those clothes to me-

Jason watched as Zero walked off to the the registration table and he saw going there too.
"I haven't dueled Core in a long time. Let's see if he got time for a friendly duel."
Jason started to walk towards the table also.

He got in line, right before Jason, the child prodig- 'Wait, what? ... Anyways.' Core waited in line, patiently. 'I wonder what I could do to pass the time? I'll just imagine myself shuffling to Nyan cat. Perhaps shuffling on a rainbow? Perhaps in space? Playing children's card games to at the same time? On a motorcycle? So I would be Shuffle on a motorcycle playing a children's card game on a rainbow, IN SPAAAAAAAAAACE. Yes, That'll pass the time for sure.'

Hunter walks over to the bar.
Bartender can i get anything fizzey, surprise me.
Hunter gets his drink and looks around.
Well this is a good turn out considering the boat almost sank with us all. Though didn't a little girl die? Oh well.
Hunter sips his drink and begins to walk over to a bench.
Well there's no point just standing at the bar.
Hunter sits down on the bench and watches some of the duels and other things happening.
I guess after i finish this drink i'll go duel someone new. I hate being bored.

Enya nodded, "That's okay. Just trying to find something to pass the time... It seems like it's going to take a while for anything to get going.... I've played soccer before. I'm not too good at it, but I certinaly wouldn't mind kicking a ball around." She said, then turned to Chad. "Not many games we can play on our own.... We'll have to rain check."

She took another rip of cider, gaxing around at the duelists. "I can see why they're all dueling... it gives them something to pass the time.

Loki stretched in his seat, setting his drink down on the bar counter before outstretching his arms upward and arcing his back. "Speaking of passing the time, I'm ready for a decent duel. Either of you care to take me up on his offer?" He asked, the question going to both Enya and Chad.

Enya shrugged, "I don't see why not. it IS getting pretty boring, isn't it?" Enya said with a slight laugh, sitting up, flaring her rose red duel disk to life. Stretching slightly after having been on that stool for a while. , repairing her slightly messy hair.

She turned back to face Loki. "I'll take you on then." She said, cricking her neck slightly. She took one last sip of her cider, then sat it down. "I'm ready when you are."

I was wondering the same thing at first but then everyone was talking about a tournament and signing up.....so I didn't want to disturb the flow of the RP and just went with it.

"Well then, sounds like we've got a game on our hands then." Loki commented lightly with a small smirk as he activated his duel disk, it's outer covering being decorated black with yellow streaks of lightning dancing throughout the ebony surface area. Sliding his deck free from the deck box at his waist, he maneuvered the cards into the deck slot within the disk and prepared for the start of the duel.
